Minster Chosen for Grant

Mar. 19—MINSTER — The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has recommended that the National Park Service approve a grant to Minster for $500,000 for the replacement of an existing playground and the development of a new splash pad.

Minster is one of six communities in Ohio to receive federal matching money from the Land and Water Conservation Fund. These funds are dependent on final approval from the National Park Service.

The Land and Water conservation fund provides up to 50% reimbursement assistance for villages and cities for the acquisition, development, and rehabilitation of outdoor recreational areas. The program has awarded more that $165 million dollars since it inception in 1965.
