A man who quoted ‘The Three Little Pigs’ crashed a police car in Broward, cops say

A man who a Miramar resident said banged on her townhouse door while didn’t let volts from a stun gun prevent him from stealing a police cruiser overnight Friday, Miramar police said.

That short drive ended, police said, with Marques Johnson, 40, crashing into exit gates of the Martinique development, then crossing Miramar Boulevard to smash into the gates of the Aventine at Miramar Apartments.

After the crash, officers put Johnson in handcuffs before Miramar Fire Rescue took him to Memorial Regional Hospital for an evaluation. He remained there as of Friday evening. Johnson was arrested on charges including resisting arrest without violence, leaving the scene of a crash and grand theft of law enforcement equipment.

Friday afternoon, Miramar police released the 911 call they say came from the 12000 block of Southwest 26th Street around 1:48 a.m. The caller said a yelling man banging on the front door loudly declared he wasn’t leaving. She thought the man had followed her brother back to the townhouse after her brother took out the trash.

More banging could be heard on the 911 call.

The caller said, “He’s saying if we don’t open the door, he’s going to break in. Right now, he just quoted The Wolf in ‘The Three Little Pigs,’” the caller said. “He’s shouting and screaming. He’s by a vehicle, beating on his chest. He’s moved from our door, but he’s still outside. He’s taking off his shirt.”

The caller told the 911 operator police had arrived and were talking to the man. She hung up to wait for police to come to her door.

Miramar police say Johnson eventually “rushed” at them “in an aggressive manner while making verbal threats.”

The officers said they deployed their stun guns several times, but Johnson “continued to resist the effects, and resist being taken into custody.”

Johnson managed to break free and get into the driver’s seat of a Miramar police car, officers said. Police said he then sped away before crashing the cop car into one gate, then the other.

CBS News Miami footage showed a Miramar police car with heavy front-end damage. No officers or residents were injured, police said.
