Was Miranda Lambert's New Husband Brendan McLoughlin Involved in Recent Restaurant Drama?

The male companion who sparked Miranda Lambert’s salad-dumping drama reportedly identified himself as a cop — meaning signs seem to point to the fact that it was her new husband Brendan McLoughlin.

The “Vice” singer, 35, made news last week for reportedly dumping a salad on a woman whose husband had argued with Lambert’s friend in the men’s restroom.

And thanks to a 911 call obtained by TMZ and The Tennessean, it now seems the confrontation may have involved McLoughlin, 27, who is a police officer with the New York Police Department.

The country star was dining at the Stoney River Steakhouse and Grill with her mother and the man Feb. 10 when an older man made a comment about “millennials and their phones” to Lambert’s pal in the men’s restroom, according to TMZ.

Video footage obtained by the outlet shows Lambert’s male companion engaging in a spat with a fellow diner, while a woman recording the fight observes, “The guy that she’s with is very young…”

A female employee of the restaurant then called 911, telling the dispatcher that she assumed the man was Lambert’s boyfriend. But given what the world knows now, the man was likely Lambert’s husband, as the two had already secretly wed back on Jan. 26.

“Something happened in the restroom between these two gentlemen and another gentleman walked up to [Lambert’s] table and started cussing him out,” the woman said, according to the call obtained by TMZ and The Tennessean. “This is the third time they’ve gotten into it, and now Miranda is trying to hit people and she’s flipping plates over on them.”

A second call to police, also obtained by TMZ, said the man with Lambert claimed he was an out-of-state cop.

After the dispatcher asked the caller whether the man was working security for the singer, he replied, “I don’t know if that’s the situation. I know they’re with each other,” and identified him as being around 140 lbs.

Nashville police confirmed to PEOPLE that they responded to a call regarding two men fighting at Stoney River Steakhouse on Feb. 10 around 8 p.m., though they were unable to confirm Lambert’s involvement.

Both men declined to press charges when cops arrived, and no report was filed.

Lambert surprised fans Saturday when she revealed she and McLoughlin had tied the knot in a ceremony that a source told PEOPLE took place three weeks prior.

“In honor of Valentine’s Day I wanted to share some news. I met the love of my life. And we got hitched!” Lambert wrote on Instagram. “My heart is full. Thank you, Brendan McLoughlin, for loving me for….. me.”

McLoughlin has been with the NYPD since 2013, and is assigned to the South Midtown Precinct, which covers the Times Square area.

It was there that he and Lambert met on Nov. 2, a source told PEOPLE, when the singer and her band Pistol Annies appeared on Good Morning America.

A friend of the star told PEOPLE that the pair likely clicked due to similarities between McLoughlin and Lambert’s father.

“If you know Miranda’s dad and his background, you can guess why she’d easily connect with Brendan,” the friend said.

Lambert’s father Rick is a former homicide-and-narcotics cop with the Dallas Police Department.
