Miranda Lambert's new husband: Shocking claims emerge about Brendan McLoughlin's past

Miranda Lambert's new husband has a messy past.

Following news that the country superstar married Brendan McLoughlin last month, more details are surfacing on the NYPD officer's romantic history -- a history that includes welcoming a newborn baby three months before marrying Lambert, which was reportedly conceived through cheating on his ex-fiancée.

According to Us Weekly, McLoughlin, 27, cheated on fiancée Jackie Bruno last year and got his mistress pregnant.

"She was engaged to Brendan and he cheated on her and got another girl pregnant," Jackie's mom, Carol Bruno, told the outlet. "It's all true. She was thrown for a loop, she had no clue."

Adding insult to injury? It was reportedly his mistress, Kaihla Rettinger, who told Jackie that she was expecting.

"The girl contacted her. Jackie was in Sweden playing professional soccer, got injured and came home and the girl contacted her," Carol explained. "She broke the news to her."

"He tried to deny it and then begged her to stay with him," she went on. "She was only going for a few months to play, he was begging her to marry him before she left, even though he knew the girl was pregnant."

"He could have just broken up with her and Jackie never would have known," Carol added to Radar. "He lived a secret life for several months. It was pretty upsetting. She's better off without him. She's a great person and definitely deserve what he did to her. He definitely was very phony and she had no idea. He hid it well, he hid it very well."

Several months later, on Friday, Nov. 2, Lambert met McLoughlin while he was on patrol in Times Square and she was performing with her group, Pistol Annies, on "Good Morning America." Three days later, Kaihla gave birth to their child.

Lambert, 35, announced her marriage (and relationship) to McLoughlin three weeks after they tied the knot on January 26 in Davidson County, Tennessee.

"In honor of Valentine's Day I wanted to share some news. I met the love of my life. And we got hitched!" she captioned two photos from her wedding day. "My heart is full. Thank for Brendan McLoughlin for loving me for.... me."

She had previously been married to Blake Shelton for four years, following six years of dating. They divorced in 2015.
