Miss America receives Spirit of the Springs Award

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Miss America 2024, the former Miss Colorado and recent U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) graduate, Madison Marsh, who became the first active-duty Air Force officer to win the Miss America pageant, received the 2024 Spirit of the Springs Award.

According to the City of Colorado Springs, Marsh was presented the award by Mayor Yemi Mobolade and City Council President Randy Helms over the weekend. “Madison Marsh embodies the spirit of our city – compassion, excellence, and a commitment to making the world a better place,” said Mayor Yemi.

According to the City, Marsh is also a National Truman Scholar, a two-time National Astronaut Scholar, a Harvard Kennedy School graduate student at Harvard University, a blackbelt in taekwondo, and she became a certified pilot at the age of 16. Marsh also works as an advocate and spokesperson for pancreatic cancer research and education.

“Madison is a shining example to all of us, but she especially serves as an inspiration to countless girls across the nation to dream big, aim high and reach for the stars. It’s an honor to present her with a 2024 Spirit of the Springs Award,” Mayor Yemi said.
