Missing 19-year-old discovered dead in woods in Reading

Apr. 6—The body of a 19-year-old Reading man who was reported missing last week by his family was found Wednesday evening in the woods on Mount Penn, according to city police, who said Thursday they are investigating the death as a homicide.

Javien Perch was reported missing to Reading police on March 30 after he had been missing nearly a week.

Police said his body was discover on Oak Lane at the Reading-Alsace Township line.

Investigators said they are not releasing further information at this time.

Perch was last seen by a family member the evening of March 28. He was reportedly walking south in the 1500 block of North 10th Street.

The Reading Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact the Criminal Investigations Division at 610-655-6116.
