A boy who was inside a car when it was stolen was found safe Monday night, Louisville Metro Police said.

A 6-year-old was inside the car, a gold 2008 Buick Enclave with the Kentucky license plate 923 VJG, LMPD spokeswoman Beth Ruoff said in an alert sent out just before 9 p.m.

LMPD said in a tweet minutes later the boy and the car had been "recovered safely."
