🌱 Missing 6-Year-Old Found Safe + No Toll Increases On Bridges

  1. A 6-year-old girl who went missing after a car was stolen outside a Philadelphia pizza place has been found safe. Police say the child was dropped off at the 35th District Headquarters on Wednesday morning unharmed. The vehicle was located in the parking lot of a Checkers at Broad Street and Nedro Avenue. (WPVI-TV)

  2. The costs for motorists to cross the Delaware River into Philadelphia will not increase in 2022 after the Delaware River Port Authority voted Wednesday to keep toll prices frozen.
    The agency said that it's the eleventh straight year that prices on its four major bridges Ben Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry, and Betsy Ross — will stay the same. A decade-old agreement calls for biannual toll raises, but the agency postponed the spike for the sixth straight cycle. (FOX 29 Philadelphia)

  3. On busy corridors, like Chestnut Street, the City of Philadelphia has already piloted a project called the Loading Zone Pilot. In 2019, it created loading regulations from the 600 block to the 2000 block. To further combat this problem, the City is now looking for tech solutions that would allow for a digital map of the curb space and and a reservation-based loading zone for delivery drivers. The pilot, called Smart Loading Zones, will test five different software options to make loading more efficient and user-friendly. (Technical.ly)

  4. The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of a man with gang connections in Philadelphia. According to the FBI, Darasy S. Chhim, 36, is wanted for his alleged role in a large-scale and long-running drug trafficking conspiracy in which 15 alleged gang members and associates were charged.Chhim is the only remaining fugitive and as issued a federal arrest warrant out of Boston, Massachusetts, after he was charged with conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute illegal drugs.   5. Democratic State Senator Christine Tartaglione announced $10 million in state grants was recently awarded to North and Northeast Philadelphia for redevelopment projects. Tartaglione announced the funding, which is awarded through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, will provide grants to projects that will expand medical access, recreation space, career development and employment opportunities.
