Missing Arizona teen may be in Austin, other Texas cities; family seeks public’s help

An Arizona family is seeking help from the public to find a 16-year-old who has been missing for four months and may travel to Austin or other Texas cities, according to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

Jarrett Brooks left his home in Joseph City, Arizona, on foot around 6:30 a.m. on July 4, the national center said in a news release. His mother, Laura Brooks, reported him missing to local law enforcement soon afterward. Despite numerous searches in the community, there was no sign of the teen.

Authorities believe that Jarrett Brooks may travel to Winslow, Arizona, or to San Antonio, Austin, Temple or Stamford, Texas.

He is described as 6 feet tall and 140 pounds when he was last seen. He has brown eyes and blond hair.

Laura Brooks said she has not given up on the search for her son, and the family's concern for his well-being grows with each passing day.

“I love and miss him so much,” she said in the news release. “I just want him to come back home to me.”

The Joseph City community has a Facebook page for the teen, called “Search for Jarrett Brooks,” with about 12,000 members.
