The family of Blake Medical Center doctor who went missing on Wednesday has posted on social media that his body has been found after a motorcycle crash along Interstate 75 in Manatee County.

José Treviño, 35, was reported missing to authorities by family and friends on Thursday, they said.

He was last seen driving a red Ducati motorcycle from Riverview. They posted on Facebook and encouraged anyone who spotted him to contact the police.

Treviño’s mother, Juliana Pineda, said in a public Facebook post on May 4 that she was ill over her son’s disappearance.

The following day, she went live on Facebook from the crash site where her son’s body had been discovered. A white sheet was over the body, which lay next to a retention pond.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol press release on Saturday, a motorcycle driver was traveling south on the Interstate 75 exit ramp, which links to State Road 70 in Bradenton, when he lost control while making a turn.

His motorcycle veered off the road, flipped and plunged into a retention pond, the press release said.

The man died at the scene.

According to the FHP, the exact date and time of the crash is unknown, but an investigation is underway.
