Mississippi Coast residents win cash prizes in Mississippi Lottery summer sweepstakes

A Diamondhead resident is $8,000 richer after winning the second prize in the Mississippi Lottery’s 2023 Summer of Fun.

Now in its second week, Summer of Fun is a weekly promotion where four entries are drawn each week. First place gets $15,000 and a grill; second receives $8,000; and $4,000 goes to third place. Fourth-place winners receive a Yeti cooler.

In the second week of the 15-week promotion, $15,000 went to someone in Batesville and $4,000 went to a Hollandale resident.

A Pascagoula resident took home the first week’s $4,000 prize. Other winners were from Ridgeland, Tupelo and Richton.

Some of the prices vary each week, with a grand prize of a 2023 Nissan Titan Pro 4X truck from Gulfport Nissan. There will also be a chance to win an 18-foot party barge.

Each random drawing winner is contacted by certified mail and has 10 days to respond and 30 days to collect the prize.

The next drawing will be held on June 5. The rest of the drawings will be held June 12, June 19, June 26, July 3, July 10, July 17, July 24, July 31, Aug. 7, Aug. 14, Aug. 21 and Aug. 28.
