Mississippi homicide suspect arrested at Manitowoc hotel

MANITOWOC - A 30-year-old Mississippi man wanted on an active homicide warrant in his home state was arrested at a Manitowoc hotel July 28.

SanMarco V. Houston was arrested at the hotel after law enforcement traced a vehicle to him and confirmed he was staying at the hotel, Manitowoc County Sheriff Dan Hartwig said in a news release Monday.

Houston was arrested without incident and was taken to Manitowoc County Jail, where he will remain until he is extradited back to Mississippi, Hartwig said.

Sheriff’s office investigators assigned to the U.S. Marshals Service-Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force were provided with initial information about Houston by the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force and Meridian Police Department. That information helped lead investigators to locate Houston in Manitowoc, Hartwig said.

According to a July 29 report by WTOK-TV in Meridian, Mississippi, Houston was one of three men sought in the Dec. 27, 2020, drive-by shooting and murder in the death of 22-year-old Jahtarreon Fulgham.

Houston will return to Mississippi to face charges while the other men in the case had a bond set at $1 million each.
