STARKVILLE — Mississippi State baseball has a chance to stack some wins together heading into SEC play. It starts Tuesday at Dudy Noble Field against Valparaiso (6 p.m., SEC Network+).

The Beacons enter the matchup having won five of their last six, capped by a weekend series win at Little Rock. Valpo (6-3) comes to Starkville to begin a week in the Magnolia State capped by a weekend series at Southern Miss.

Tuesday begins a stretch of six games against non-Power Five foes for the Bulldogs. Mississippi State is coming off a losing weekend at the Frisco College Baseball Classic in Frisco, Texas, needing wins and momentum before conference play begins on March 17 at Kentucky.

MSU (7-5) hosts Lipscomb for a series this weekend before heading to Biloxi for midweek games against Nicholls and Louisiana. Mississippi State is 2-1 in midweek games after taking down Southern Miss last week. Freshman left-handed pitcher Bradley Loftin started for the Bulldogs in that matchup.
