Mississippi State baseball score vs. Lipscomb: Live updates from Dudy Noble Field

STARKVILLE — Mississippi State baseball returns to Dudy Noble Field this weekend for a series against ASUN foe Lipscomb, and it's a chance for the Bulldogs to gain some momentum heading into SEC play.

MSU (8-5) is coming off a midweek win against Valparaiso after a tough set of games at the Frisco College Baseball Classic. Mississippi State now has a chance to stack wins with Lipscomb followed by a midweek trip to Biloxi, Mississippi, to face Louisiana and Nicholls.

The Bulldogs open conference play March 17 with a trip to Kentucky.

Lipscomb (5-8) is off to a slow start this season, though it opened the year with a series win against Notre Dame. However, the Bisons have lost their last six, including a sweep against Auburn last weekend. That was followed by midweek losses against Georgia Tech and Belmont.

Mississippi State has won all six matchups in series history, with the last meeting coming in 2012.

MSU switch pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje will start Friday with Landon Gartman on the bump Sunday. Now Saturday starter has been announced.
