STARKVILLE — Arkansas' last trip to Davis Wade Stadium was a memorable one for the visitors. Led by first-year coach Sam Pittman, the Razorbacks came into Starkville in 2020 and scored their first SEC win since 2017.
On the opposing sideline was first-year coach Mike Leach. Leach's struggles with Mississippi State football against Arkansas carried into last season when the Bulldogs lost on the road.
Leach's third chance to beat Pittman comes Saturday (11 a.m., SEC Network) as No. 25 Arkansas (3-2, 1-2 SEC) returns to Starkville. No. 23 Mississippi State (4-1, 1-1) is a 9.5-point favorite, according to DraftKings Sportsbook.
The Bulldogs opened as a slight favorite, but as the status of Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson fluctuated, the line moved strongly in favor of the home team.
