Mississippi State women's basketball announces 2022-23 nonconference, SEC schedule

STARKVILLE — Mississippi State women's basketball coach Sam Purcell has his first schedule completed. The SEC announced its conference slate Wednesday, a day after MSU released its full nonconference schedule.

Mississippi State opens its season at Humphrey Coliseum Nov. 9 against Mississippi Valley State — one of eight nonconference home games. The Bulldogs have one true road game as they complete a home-and-home against South Dakota State on Nov. 14.

State will participate in two neutral site invitationals with a Thanksgiving week trip to Puerto Rico and a winter break trip to Tampa, Florida.

MSU opens SEC play Dec. 29 with a trip to Vanderbilt before returning home for a marquee matchup. Mississippi State will host Ole Miss on New Year's Day, marking guard Myah Taylor's first game in Starkville after transferring from MSU this offseason.

MSU hosts defending champion South Carolina on Jan. 8. The Bulldogs close the regular season with a Feb. 26 trip to LSU.

The SEC tournament begins March 1 in Greenville, South Carolina.
