Missouri State announced Friday evening that Keaton Hervey has entered the transfer portal and is no longer with the men's basketball program.

"We respect Keaton's decision to enter his name into the transfer portal, and we wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors," head coach Dana Ford said in a release. "Not only do we appreciate the player he has been for Missouri State but also the student and most importantly the great person that he is. I am thankful for his investment in this team and I am confident in his future as an amazing young man."

Hervey saw a reduction in his playing time this season after starting all 24 games for the Bears a season ago. He averaged 5.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game while shooting the ball 46.3 percent over the last two seasons.

Hervey's role greatly diminished following Missouri State's addition of Donovan Clay, a Valparaiso transfer, who has started all 20 games for the Bears this season. He averages 31.2 minutes per game.

Hervey transferred to Missouri State before last season from New Mexico Junior College where he played in 2019-20. He spent 2018-19 at Incarnate Word.
