Sep. 28—Caden Hinker, a 6-foot-7 forward for the Mitchell High School basketball team, announced his college commitment via Twitter on Tuesday morning, choosing to stay in South Dakota to play for Augustana.
Hinker will be a senior forward for the Kernels this season and is one of six players in program history to surpass 1,000 career points. He was the lone junior on the Class AA first-team all-state squad last year, when the Kernels finished 15-9 and took seventh place at the state tournament.
