Mitchell tennis tallies two wins against Sioux Falls Christian, Lennox

Apr. 17—MITCHELL — Mitchell boys tennis picked up a pair of 6-3 wins Monday, taking down Sioux Falls Christian and Lennox in a triangular at Hitchcock Park.

Against Sioux Falls Christian, Luke Jerke, Jager Juracek and Levi Loken won in singles Flights 1, 2 and 3, respectively, while Zach Fuhrer picked up a win in Flight 6. Jerke won a tiebreaker in the first set, while Juracek won both sets 6-2. Loken went three sets but picked up a 12-10 win in the decisive third set. Fuhrer won 6-1 and 6-0.

The Kernels picked up a pair of doubles wins against the Chargers, as Jerke and Juracek won in two sets, nabbing a pair of 6-1 wins. Matthew Mauszycki and Fuhrer fell 6-3 in the first set but got the win after taking the second set 6-4 and the third set 10-5.

Much like against SFC, Mitchell had four singles winners against Lennox. Juracek won in Flight 2, Drake Jerke won in Flight 4, Mauszycki won in Flight 5 and Fuhrer won in Flight 6. Juracek and Fuhrer each won in two sets, with Juracek winning 6-4 and a second-set tiebreaker, while Fuhrer took both sets 6-1. Drake Jerke and Mauszycki each won in three sets, as Jerke won a set 6-2, lost a set 6-2 and won the third set 10-8, while Mauszycki lost the first set 6-4 but won the second 6-4 and the third 10-7.

In doubles, the duos of Loken and Drake Jerke and Mauszycki and Fuhrer both won in two sets, with Loken and Jerke winning 6-4 and 6-3, while Mauszycki and Fuhrer won 6-0 and 6-1.
