Missouri Tigers men’s basketball coach Dennis Gates made sure you have that Friday feeling.

Mizzou landed four-star shooting guard Annor Boateng on Friday morning, the 23rd-rated player, according to Rivals, in the Class of 2024.

Gates, along with assistant coach Charlton Young, posted ‘bat signals’ Friday morning to X, formerly known as Twitter, indicating a commitment was coming to Columbia. Boateng confirmed via X that he had committed not long afterward.

Boateng is the fourth commit to Gates’ next class, which is taking on historic shape.

All four commits are consensus four-star prospects. And all four players are ranked in the top 100 of the ’24 class.

And as it stands, the Tigers are primed to leap into the top five of the 2024 team recruiting rankings.

Boateng, listed at 6 foot 5, 205 pounds, visited Missouri in late August, before taking visits to Georgia Tech, LSU, Virginia and Indiana. He held offers from at least a dozen schools, including at least six, including Mizzou, from the Southeastern Conference.

The shooting guard is the top-ranked player in his home state of Arkansas, where the state’s flagship university was seen as a contender to land his pledge. The three major recruiting sites — Rivals, 247Sports and On3 — rank Boateng between No. 23 and No. 41 in the nation.

He joins center Peyton Marshall, small forward Marcus Allen and point guard T.O. Barrett as commitments to Gates’ Class of 2024.

Mizzou currently has six scholarship players on its roster who are set to play in their final year of eligibility. That leaves six more players, including the three four-star true freshmen about to begin their college careers this upcoming season, on scholarship moving forward.

The Tigers are still waiting on decisions from No. 9-ranked Jayden Quaintance, a center out of Raleigh, North Carolina. He is currently in Columbia on an official visit.
