MLB Power Rankings 2021: Standings after 5th week originally appeared on NBC Sports Chicago

The first five weeks of the 2021 MLB season have featured a ton of parity, but things are starting to shift closer to preseason expectations.

That is, outside of the Dodgers, whose skid rolled on last week against the Cubs and Angels. Los Angeles was the clear No. 1 team in the early going but has fallen to nearly .500.

But the Dodgers aside, playoff contenders who started slow are turning things around. The Yankees had a strong week to continue their climb up the AL East standings.

The Cardinals, who were two games under .500 a few weeks ago, now lead the National League in wins. The Mets are on a winning streak to take back first in the NL East.

None of this is to say parity has gone away. Nineteen of the league's 30 teams are .500 or better, making for jumbled standings in both leagues.

It's been an interesting start to the season. Here's how all 30 teams stack up after Mother's Day weekend.
