Minnesota households can now get the state to send another four COVID-19 tests to their home for free.
Gov. Tim Walz announced an update to the state’s test-at-home program Thursday. Previously, households were limited to four tests and now they can order four more for a total of eight.
“Minnesotans have more COVID-19 testing options than ever, and our online ordering program is one of the ways we are making it easy and convenient to access those tests,”
Walz said in a statement. “Minnesotans should continue to test if they have been exposed to the virus or have symptoms of COVID-19.”
Minnesota’s home testing program mirrors a federal effort to ship COVID-19 tests to households. Last month, federal officials announced a third round of test ordering for a total of 16 tests.
Test can be ordered online from Minnesota at mn.gov/covid19 or by calling 1-833-431-2053 and from the federal government at covid.gov/tests or by calling 1-800-232-0233.
