Mobile bus to hit Atlanta streets educating, offering services to assist with mental health crisis

Fulton County officials gave a tour of its new mental health mobile unit on Tuesday.

This comes as mental health month officially wraps up.

Channel 2 Action News was there at the tour outside the Oak Hill Child, Adolescent, and Family Center in southwest Atlanta.

Health outreach workers will be on the bus around the county to educate about mental health and fight back against the stigma of getting help.

“I think the presence of the mobile unit at the health fairs, at our public libraries, at our senior centers, it will begin to normalize the presence of this sign saying help is here and asking the question, ‘Are you okay?’”LaTrina Foster said.

The mental health mobile unit officially kicks off Thursday.
