MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The Carnival Season is here! WKRG News 5 is featuring every Mardi Gras Organization in Mobile. In this article, we will be featuring the Order of Polka Dots.

Mobile Mardi Gras 2024: Parade Schedule

The Order of Polka Dots was founded in May 1949 by 20 women, according to the Mobile Mask. In 1950, the organization was the first ladies’ exclusive organization to parade in Mobile. Nine officers in OOP represent the nine ancient Greek Muses: Calliope, Clio, Erato, Euterpe, Melpomene, Polyhymnia, Terpsichore, Thalia and Urania, according to the Mask.

The Order of Polka Dots will roll through Mobile on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
