UPDATE: Mobile Police arrest woman in connection with Cabana Avenue shooting

Update (8:05 A.M.): The Mobile Police Department has made an arrest in Thursday night’s shooting at two occupied apartments and two vehicles at Cabana Avenue that left a juvenile male injured.

20-year-old Talajiah Nejia Johnson was arrested on Sunday after an investigation from MPD suggested she was involved with the shooting, according to police.

MPD said they don’t think Johnson was the shooter who injured the juvenile male, but she was responsible for shooting at the two apartments, they believe.

Johnson is charged with two counts of discharge at an occupied or unoccupied building/vehicle and one count of first-degree marijuana possession.

According to a release from the police department, officers responded to 370 Cabana Ave. at around 10:34 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, after reports of a shooting.

SHOOTING LOCATION:

Upon arrival, officers found that two occupied apartments and two unoccupied vehicles were shot into. The release states that an altercation that took place in the parking lot led to the shooting.

A juvenile male was struck by gunfire in the incident, according to reports. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
