UPDATE: man charged with murder in Dauphin Island Parkway shooting

UPDATE (7:58 p.m.): Mobile Police have arrested 22-year-old Jamal Hicks in connection to the Friday morning shooting on Dauphin Island Parkway.

The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Joe Henderson. Mobile Police say he sustained a gunshot wound and later died at the hospital.

Hicks has been charged with murder.

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG)- The Mobile Police Department confirmed a man was shot near the Family Dollar around 11:41 Friday morning on Dauphin Island Parkway.

Upon arrival, WKRG News 5 saw officers taping off two separate scenes just a few hundred feet from one another. Investigators were marking visible blood spots on the sidewalk between the two scenes.

No arrests have been reported by police.
