Mobilisation is intensified in Kharkiv Oblast – Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration

Mobilisation measures are being enhanced in Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine.

Details: The acting head of the Kharkiv Regional Territorial Centre for Recruitment and Social Support, representatives of the territorial departments of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine (SBI), the National Police of Ukraine, district Territorial Centres for Recruitment and Social Support, as well as the heads of district military administrations and the hromadas in Kharkiv Oblast, participated in the meeting. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a town, village or several villages and their adjacent territories – ed.]

The participants have discussed the steps of cooperation between the bodies that facilitate or conduct mobilisation measures in the territory of Kharkiv Oblast.

They also outlined steps to establish commissions on the territory of district military administrations and settlements in the oblast to consider issues related to the strengthening of mobilisation measures.

Background: On 23 August, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed that the military command called on him to allow them to mobilise more people for the war effort.

On 25 August, Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, said that Russia was considering recruiting an additional 450,000 people to its army.
