MOC holds door decorating contest

GARDNER – Officials at MOC Head Start and Child Care recently held a Literacy Door Decoration contest. Each classroom’s teachers, with help from their students, decorated a door to reflect their favorite book, with a free lunch being the prize for the winning entry.

Mayor Michael Nicholson, City Council President Elizabeth Kazinskas, and MOC Maintenance Director Rick McCarthy were the celebrity judges for the event.

The Toddler teachers in the Little Shark classroom were selected as the winners, with their decorated door based on the storybook, ‘Little Blue Truck.’ The winning display, which featured shining headlights and a working horn, was created by Anna Cummings, Lyndsey Bowman, and Heather Deacy.
