MOCA’s new River North dispensary temporarily shuts down after city cites lack of proper permits
Days after MOCA Modern Cannabis opened a marijuana dispensary in River North, the city issued a stop work order for failing to obtain the proper work permits.
The dispensary temporarily shut down Friday afternoon.
The stop work order, which the city issued Thursday, will be lifted once MOCA complies with Chicago’s dispensary requirements, said Mimi Simon, a spokeswoman for the city’s building department.
MOCA, which operates another dispensary in the Logan Square neighborhood, opened its River North location Wednesday.
More to come.
