The Chicago Bulls are off to a 9-12 start to the season as they sit as the No. 12 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Compared to the beginning of last season, the Bulls are off to a complete opposite start as they’ve struggled out the gate with the same core group from last season.

Looking up at the top of the East, the Bulls’ chances of making a run in the playoffs seems slim, let alone just making the postseason — which could call for a potential blow up of the current roster.

The Ringer’s Bill Simmons put together three proposed trades for the Bulls to rebuild their team and focus on the future, including sending Alex Caruso to the defending champs for young pieces and a pick.

List

Proposed trade sends DeRozan, Vucevic to Lakers for Westbrook, picks

Bulls receive: Donte DiVincenzo, Moses Moody, and future pick swap

Warriors receive: Alex Caruso

As for Simmons’ three-trade plan for the Bulls, if they traded DeRozan, LaVine, and Vucevic, they might as well send Caruso off to a contender as well to bolster their future assets and increase Chicago’s chances at landing Victor Wembanyama in next year’s draft.

In this deal, the Bulls get a Moses Moody, who has yet to get a legit opportunity with the Warriors and a young, quality rotation piece in DiVincenzo along with the future pick swap.

The No. 14 pick in the 2022 NBA draft has showed flashes when given the chance but on a veteran-led team in the Warriors, Moody has had trouble finding his way in the rotation.

For the Warriors, acquiring Caruso gives Steve Kerr a true winning player who is battled tested and can impact the game on both sides of the floor. Caruso really is a perfect Warrior for how they play on both ends and would fit in seamlessly.

The cost of Caruso isn’t hefty but parting with Moody this early could lead the Warriors to hold off on this deal, depending on how high they are on the sophomore guard.
