Here’s when the new MOD Pizza is opening in Bellingham, plus live music and events

Here’s a roundup of the latest retail, business and restaurant activity in and around Whatcom County:

MOD Pizza’s second location opens in January

The new location for a second MOD Pizza restaurant in Bellingham is planned to open in January 2024.

The new location will be in the Sehome Village.

The new restaurant will provide approximately 25 jobs and start hiring about 60 days before opening, according to an email from MOD Pizza spokesperson.

The other restaurant is located in Barkley Village at 2925 Newmarket St Suite 101, Bellingham.

New brewery opening soon, now hiring

The long-awaited Larrabee Lager Company has not yet announced its opening date, but the new brewery is getting closer to open.

Bellewood Farms’ summer concert series

Bellewood Farms & Distillery has announced its Farmtunes Friday Nights, an eight-week live music series that will start July 7. The concerts are family friendly and feature Pacific Northwest bluegrass, folk and country artists.

“Adults will love relaxing on our back patio or grass with a beautiful view of Mt. Baker. Children have plenty of room to roam and play with smores and apple-cider slushies waiting for anyone who’s hungry,” said Eric Abel, president of Bellewood Farms wrote in a news release.

Concerts will run from 6-9 p.m. every Friday from July 7 through August 25 at 6140 Guide Meridian in Lynden.

Goodwill marks 100 years with a party

Evergreen Goodwill is celebrating 100 years as a nonprofit in the Pacific Northwest, and is hosting parties at its various Washington state stores, including Bellingham’s Goodwill, according to a news release.

“Free and open to the public, the events will be an opportunity for people to learn more about Evergreen Goodwill’s impact and celebrate alongside Evergreen Goodwill employees, students and fellow community members. There will be live entertainment, giveaways, food, stories from those in the community whose lives have been changed as a result of Goodwill’s work, and opportunities to learn more about Evergreen Goodwill’s programs and partnerships,” the news release states.

Bellingham’s Goodwill location will have its party from 3-6 p.m. on Friday, June 30 at 1115 E. Sunset Drive.
