Modern Family's Sofia Vergara and Magic Mike's Joe Manganiello announce split

Modern Family's Sofia Vergara and Magic Mike's Joe Manganiello have separated after seven years of marriage.

The couple, who tied the knot back in 2015 with a lavish star-studded affair, released a statement (via Page Six) to confirm the news of their divorce.

It read: "We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives."

Fans suspected that the couple parted ways, as Sofia set out to Italy to celebrate her 51st birthday with a group of loved ones, but Joe was noticeably absent.

The America’s Got Talent judge has shared a series of snaps on Instagram of her time in Capri, one of which she captioned: "When life gives u lemons, u come to Italy to squeeze them."

Sofia met the Magic Mike XXL actor through her former Modern Family co-star Jesse Tyler Ferguson, as they attended the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner back in 2014.

In November 2015, the couple held a decadent wedding in Palm Springs with over 400 guests including their co-stars such as Channing Tatum and Reese Witherspoon.

Alongside this, Sofia invited her on-screen family Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ariel Winter, Sarah Hyland, Ed O’Neill, Eric Stonestreet, Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell.

Last September, Sofia shared pictures of a reunion dinner with her former co-stars. Many of the cast also attended Sarah Hyland's wedding to long-term partner Wells Adams.
