Knowing which TV series to watch next can sometimes feel overwhelming, but judging by our Twitter timelines right now there really is only one option: Modern Love.

The show, which airs on Amazon Prime, is a rom-com inspired series based on the weekly column of the same name published by The New York Times. Inspired by eight true stories, the series explores the "open, honest, painful and sometimes messy search for love", and what makes it so real.

And it's not just the gritty, overwhelmingly heartfelt look into human relationships that makes the show so gripping - the cast of recognisable faces helps, too. Modern Love stars Dev Patel, Anne Hathaway, Tina Fey, Andrew Scott, Andy Garcia and more, and collectively they're sending Twitter over the edge.

Whether it's Guzmin watching Maggie’s eyes the whole time; Lexi's heartbreaking depressive episodes, or Josh's search for real, intoxicating love, Modern Love is all people can think about right now.

"Without a doubt the cheesiest thought I’ll ever share, but. The fact that hundreds of women are watching#ModernLove and tweeting their comments rn, like we’re having a big-ass viewing party, is warming my heart. I love y’all [sic]," one viewer wrote on Twitter.

Another added, "Wow this was refreshing. If you enjoy love stories, New York and or crying this is for you. Perfect escapism #ModernLove," while a third said, "#ModernLove got me crying right now! So beautiful like wow."

Anybody else desperately trying not to binge watch it so they can savour the goodness, but equally want to watch it all at once? Because same.
