Moderna Booster Shot Clinic At Greendale Health Department Friday

GREENDALE, WI — The Greendale Health Department is planning on holding a Moderna booster shot COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Friday for anyone eligible and 18 or older.

The department announced via Facebook the clinic will be held at the Greendale Health Department located at 5650 Parking Street. Appointments are available from 9-11:30 a.m., according to the sign-up log.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services recommends booster shots for anyone 18 or older provided that six months have passed after receiving their second dose of Pfizer or Moderna. All adults are eligible and boosters are strongly recommended for everyone 50 or older, according to the DHS.

Guidance from the CDC allows for people to mix and match for booster doses so you can receive a Moderna shot if your first doses were Pfizer and vice-versa.

"Getting everyone vaccinated continues to be our top priority for preventing serious illness and death from COVID-19," said Dr. Ryan Westergaard in a news release, the Chief Medical Officer and State Epidemiologist for DHS.

Registration for the Moderna booster clinic at the Greendale Health Department is available online.

Required information to sign up includes your full legal name, date of birth, email address, phone number and home address, according to the sign-up form.

People who are currently not feeling well, isolating after a positive COVID-19 test or quarantining because of exposure to COVID-19 should not schedule an appointment, according to the sign-up form.

People who have had antibody therapy or convalescent plasma for COVID-19 treatment in the past 90 days, those who have a history of MIS-C, MIS-A, Guillian-Barre, and those who have had a severe hospitalization-inducing allergic reaction to a vaccine or injectable medication should also not make an appointment, the sign-up form says.
