Mystery stage productions and a little Home Grown music highlight the entertainment options in Modesto from April 8-14. Here’s a look at what’s planned:

“Clue”

Sierra Repertory Theatre presents the farce-meets-murder-mystery “Clue,” based on the classic board game and 1985 film. Six guests assemble for a dinner party. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects.

“Sherlock Holmes”

Prospect Theater Project in Modesto presents a Radio Cavalcade production of “The Immortal Sherlock Holmes.” The story again pits Holmes against his nemesis Professor Moriarty as the sleuth works to solve a blackmail.

Interactive mystery

The Mayhem Mystery Players present “Death on the Cutting Room Floor” at The Century in Modesto. The play is part of a three-course murder-mystery dinner party and is interactive with patrons.

Home Grown

The longtime Modesto band Home Grown performs at the State Theatre for its Uncle Lonny’s Birthday Bash celebration. The trio has been playing for 50 years, focused on acoustic instruments, harmonies and the music of various decades and styles.

“The Counselor”
