Modesto man kidnaps wife at gunpoint, may be in Mexico, deputies say
Law enforcement officials are searching for a Modesto woman who was kidnapped by her estranged husband at gunpoint and may have fled to Mexico, the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department said Thursday. The incident took place on the evening of April 11. The suspect is believed to be Javier Chavez, 41, of Modesto. Investigators have been following up on leads in an attempt to locate the missing woman, Susana Torres, 32, also of Modesto. See more in the video above.
