MoDOT preparing for possible winter weather today

CREVE COEUR, Mo. – Road crews are changing plans Monday morning as the storm path becomes more clearly defined.

The latest we have from MoDOT is that crews in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County have been told to stand down because the storm is significantly farther to the south. However, a MoDOT spokesperson says crews in Franklin County and Jefferson County are still being called in because the storm is close enough to those areas that they could be impacted.

Originally, MoDOT crews throughout the area were planning on working 12-hour shifts starting at 7:00 a.m., but now that has changed because of the storm’s path. Crews in the immediate St. Louis area will actually be taking a holiday today for Abraham Lincoln’s birthday.

MoDOT crews farther south could still have a busy day dealing with winter weather in that region.
