The 2023 Mohican Area Community Fund (MACF) is well on its way, with $59,000 contributed toward a goal of $95,000, President Jane Stoops reported this week.

“This is all from individual and business donors,” Stoops said.

“Our joint campaign with the United Way of Ashland County, and our penny drives in local schools and businesses, are all underway,” Stoops, who has led the MACF for four years, said. “We thank everyone who has already donated. We could not do this without you, and we appreciate your generosity.”

The MACF is a nonprofit fundraising organization serving Loudonville and Perrysville, southern Ashland County, and portions of the Loudonville-Perrysville School District not in Ashland County.

“If you have not donated yet, it is very easy to donate,” Stoops continued. "... Donations will be shared among 32 nonprofit organizations that are involved in improving the quality of life in the Mohican Area.”

Checks should be mailed to MACF, 131 W. Main St., Loudonville, Ohio 44842. Donations can be made online by visiting mohnicnacf.org, or through PayPal.

Stoops voiced appreciation to four members of the MACF Board of Trustees whose terms are expiring this year: Gayle Christopher, Jerry Dudte, Erin Frankford, and Ken Fowler.

The MACF board will appoint new members in January.
