Mokena Waives Liquor, Business License Fees

MOKENA, IL — The Mokena Village Board has approved waiving liquor license fees for 2021 for restaurants and bars, as well as waiving the annual business license fee. Bars and restaurants have been among the hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic, the village said in a release.

Liquor license fees, which range from $500 to $1,100 annually, will be waived for all thirty restaurants and bars holding a current license, a release from the village states. The waiver will not apply to holders of package licenses, nor will it be made available to new applicants or recipients of liquor licenses moving forward.

The $36 business license fee waiver will also be extended to all active Mokena businesses as a show of support for the entire business community, a release states. There are approximately 800 businesses which will benefit from this waiver. The waiver will not be made available to future applicants or recipients of business licenses.
