Moldovan parliament condemns Russia’s invasion of Ukraine

The document was submitted on Feb. 24 by Moldovan President Maia Sandu's PAS party and was supported by 55 lawmakers.

The document states that Russia has been committing an unjustified war of aggression against Ukraine since 2014, which escalated into a full-scale invasion in 2022. The declaration also notes that Russian actions are war crimes and a gross violation of the principles of international law.
Moldova called on Russia to stop the war and withdraw its troops from the entire territory of Ukraine – within its internationally recognized borders.

On March 1, Moldovan communists-socialists bloc PCRM-PSRM registered its draft declaration on guarantees for maintaining peace in Moldova, while MP Vladimir Voronin proposed creating a commission to draft a common text of the declaration.

In response, the speaker of the Moldovan parliament suggested that PCRM-PSRM "decide to call a spade – a spade." As a result, PCRM-PSRM members left the parliament hall and only members of the parliamentary majority voted to support Sandu's declaration.
