Mom Found With $1000 Worth of Cocaine, Claims it was Daughter's Birthday Gift
This definitely makes the list of epic birthday presents from Mom. In fact, depending on your drug preference, it might just be the most epic gift ever.
Unfortunately, for one Mom, it also ended up landing her in jail. Nicola Austen, thoughtful mother that she is, bought her daughter $1,000 worth of cocaine for her 18th birthday in January, Jezebel reports. The Brit wanted to take her daughter out for a night in London and even booked a limo for the affair.
Alas, before the big day came, police stopped by the house of the 37-year-old, who had six previous convictions, and a police dog sniffed out her stash. Austen was arrested at home with the eight grams of cocaine and, though she managed to avoid serving time, received a nine-month suspended sentence and 250 hours of community service. Apparently, she got the lighter sentence because she claimed that the drugs were only going to be used by her daughter and herself.
