Mom, kids dodge death when Bronx gunman opens fire on their SUV

A mom and her two young kids narrowly dodged death when a Bronx gunman opened fire on their SUV, police said Thursday.

The NYPD on Thursday released surveillance footage of the suspected shooter in the scary incident and asked the public’s help identifying him and tracking him down.

The 43-year-old mom was sitting in her 2015 Toyota RAV4 with her 12-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter near Casals Place and Carver Loop in Co-op City when shots rang out about 3 p.m. March 4.

Bullets pierced two of the cars windows but nobody was struck.

Police said the mom was the intended target but the motive is not clear.

Ethan Rochester, 18, an alleged accomplice of the shooter, was busted March 15 and charged with attempted murder. He was later released on $10,000. bail.

He is described as between 18 and 21, about 5-foot-8 and 180 pounds with a dark complexion. He was wearing a black hoodie, black jacket and gray sneakers.
