More than two years after her daughter was killed and stuffed into a refrigerator, a McKeesport mom is speaking out, demanding that justice is served for her daughter.

“That’s a lie. That’s a lie. That’s a straight up lie. He put her in there,” Charlene Jefferson said when she saw Daryl Jones on Channel 11 yesterday telling us that her daughter, and his girlfriend,  Kristy Jefferson, went into a refrigerator on her own, and that he didn’t kill her.

He’s charged in her death, and with abuse of corpse charge.

“That’s a lie. And I know for a fact. All the family knows you did it,” Jefferson said.

But Jones’ defense attorney is trying to prove otherwise…

The medical examiner testified that they weren’t able to find Kristy’s cause of death because she was so badly decomposed.

Which prompted a surprise request from the defense to withdraw the homicide charge.

If the homicide charge is dropped Jones would only be facing the misdemeanor abuse of corpse charge.

“I want him in prison. I want him in prison because of what he took from me, me and her four kids,” Jefferson said.

And Charlene says she won’t rest until Jones is behind bars for good, and sentenced for her daughter’s death.

“I’m going to fight it ‘til the end. Like a real parent would do for their child. If it takes me to my death I don’t care, I’m going to fight it through the court system,” Jefferson said.

The judge is reviewing this case.

There is another hearing at the end of August where we expect to hear his decision on the homicide charge.
