Mom writes out Anna Faris' character Christy is season 8 premiere

Anna Faris announced back in September that she was leaving the Chuck Lorre sitcom Mom after starring in it for seven seasons, and now the season eight premiere has revealed exactly how her character was written out.
Co-creator Gemma Baker previously told fans that Faris' character Christy Plunkett would get a happy ending, and that's definitely what she got.
In the episode, Bonnie and Adam – Christy's mum and father-in-law – were seen leaving the airport after dropping Christy off. As Bonnie talked about how proud she was that her 42-year-old daughter has got into a prestigious law school in Washington DC, she got emotional, and then Adam got emotional.
Despite Christy's departure, there was still plenty of drama involved in the episode, as Marjorie opened up about needing a medical procedure, Jill admitted that she fears her relationship is empty, and Tammy spoke to her father, who was in prison for murdering her mother.
At the time of announcing her departure, Faris said: "The past seven years on Mom have been some of the most fulfilling and rewarding of my career.
"While my journey as Christy has come to an end, allowing me to pursue new opportunities, I'll be watching next season and rooting for my TV family."
Meanwhile, Jill actress Jaime Pressly stated recently: "It feels like (Christy is) still here [on the Mom set] because we do talk about the character all the time. We still hear the name, we still talk about her."
It'll be interesting to see how much we'll hear about Christy's adventures at law school as the season goes on.
Mom airs on CBS on Thursday nights in the US.
