Kevin Costner—one of Ree Drummond's celebrity crushes, and the man who has America swooning all over again thanks to his latest role as John Dutton in Yellowstone—recently answered some burning questions about his hit Paramount Network show during a new interview with Entertainment Tonight.

The actor touched on all things Yellowstone-related, including what to expect from season 5 and where things will pick up with John Dutton and his spirited daughter, Beth. But his comments on the show's runaway success are what really caught our attention.

"When did you know the magnitude of what Yellowstone has become?" ET's Cassie DiLaura asked. "Was there a moment for you when you realized, 'Wow!'?"

"This show has really hit a nerve with a lot of people. It's something to go to," Costner responded. "In Yellowstone, a lot of times we're saying the thing that I think a lot of people want to say."

We couldn't agree more! We're definitely keeping those iconic Yellowstone quotes in our back pocket. (Who knows when we'll need them... but just in case!)

When asked about finally receiving major recognition from the likes of the Screen Actors Guild Awards and potentially the Emmys, our favorite cowboy had the most humbling response.

"We've been doing the same work since the first season," Costner said. "When I found Yellowstone, it hadn't been made, I liked the story, I thought, 'We could do this.' So the idea that it's good, that doesn't surprise me at all. The idea that it blew up, that's something you can't always predict."

Yellowstone's tremendous fanbase made the neo-Western drama the No. 1 non-football show on television in 2021-2022, according to Variety. Creator Taylor Sheridan was quick to capitalize on that success with the popular Yellowstone spinoff, 1883. And as the fanbase continues to grow, Sheridan has been working on even more spinoffs and prequels. These include 1923 (starring Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford), 1883: The Bass Reeves Story, and 6666.

Phew! That sure seems like a lot, but we aren't complaining.

With the show's ongoing success, it doesn't seem like we have to worry about Costner leaving Yellowstone anytime soon.

"I'll go till it doesn't feel like we're interesting, and right now we have our foot on the gas and that feels okay to me," he said.

Well, that's news we certainly love to hear! Be sure to tune in with us on November 13, when the Dutton family returns to our screens on the Paramount Network.
