University of Kansas football fans are still basking in the Jayhawks’ 38-33 homecoming victory on Saturday over the Oklahoma Sooners.

On a rain-drenched afternoon complete with lightning delays, Kansas City Star visual journalist Tammy Ljungblad perfectly captured the day’s defining moment.

With 55 seconds left in the game, Kansas running back Devin Neal (4) dives into the end zone to score the go-ahead touchdown against Oklahoma on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023, at David Booth Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kansas. The Jayhawks defeated the Sooners 38-33.

With 55 seconds left in the game, running back Devin Neal took the handoff from quarterback Jason Bean, and as her photo shows, launched himself across the goal line to finally give the Jayhawks the kind of high-profile win that’s eluded them for years.
