Monadnock Humane Society needs kitten food for 'emergency animal intake'

Dec. 6—SWANZEY — The Monadnock Humane Society is closed to the public Tuesday as it handles an "emergency animal intake," according to online messages from the organization.

"Our team are all hands on deck and ready to potentially welcome over 60 animals from one home into our animal resource center," a Facebook post from the group says.

Officials with the humane society were not immediately available to provide for more information early Tuesday afternoon. The Facebook post advises people to check back with the organization's social media pages for more information on the situation.

In an updated Facebook post, the humane society said it urgently needs kitten food for the animals.

"Please stop at One Stop Country Pet Supply and buy the 'NutriSource' Kitten Food we also use at the shelter," the post reads. "Alternatively, we are always in need of litter and towels."

The Monadnock Human Society is at 101 West Swanzey Road in Swanzey.
