Monday's HS roundup: Trio helps York boys basketball run past rival Traip

KITTERY, Maine - The York High School boys basketball (9-8) team saw its record jump back over .500 after defeating Traip Academy, 89-31 on Monday nigh.

York (9-8) was led by a game-high 25 points from junior guard Derek Parsons, and 14 points each from senior guard Jake Fogg and Haydn Forbes.

Junior Nick Martine led Traip (6-11) with eight points, while Ben Hawkes had seven.

DOVER - Dylan Jabre scored a team-high 16 points, Stepehn Gitau had 14 points and Johnny Arakelian had 12 to power Dover (5-7) to this Division I win.

St. Dominic's Academy 59

Seacoast Christian School 36

ELIOT, Maine - Sunny Johnson scored 14 points to lead Seacoast Christian in this Class D South loss. Seth Vega scored six points and had six steals for the Guardians.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Traip Academy 35

YORK, Maine - Freshman Nya Avery scored a game-high 16 points and junior McKayla Kortes had 14 for Class B York in this win over Class C Traip.

Traip Academy's Emma Hale and Hannah Thorsen both had 14 points.

Seacoast Christian School 48

St. Dominic's Academy 33

ELIOT, Maine - Breckyn Winship scored 28 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to help Seacoast Christian to this Class D South win.

Ellie Odess (eight points, five steals) and Ellie Leech (six steals, eight assists) contributed to the win.

Sunapee 40

Newmarket 36

NEWMARKET - Amaya Beckle's 12 points led Newmarket in this Division IV loss. Harley Radi and Lena Nicholson both had six points for the Mules.
