Monday's HS Roundup: York's Rose Pavuk nets 100th career goal

NAPLES, Maine - Senior Rose Pavuk scored six goals, including the 100th of her career, as the York High School girls lacrosse team improved to 3-0 with a 14-10 at Lake Region High School on Monday in a Class B contest.

Clara Pavuk added four goals for the Wildcats, while Cary Drake had two and Abby Armlin and Lindsey Zinkevicz both had one.

The Pavuk sisters, Armlin and Drake all had one assist.

York goalie Tia Spenlinhauer had eight saves.

MANCHESTER - Mia Smith (four assists), Ellie Seefried (three assists), Sally Collins (one assist) and Morgan Ruhnke all had three goals for Portsmouth in this Division II win.

Charlotte Marston added two goals and two goals for the Clippers, while Annie Parker and Avery Ruhnke both had two goals.

Skye Macleod (goal) and Julia Roelofs (assist) also figured in the scoring. Portsmouth goalie Maggie MacDonald had one save.

ROCHESTER - Sophia Olsen and Lily Hunt both scored two goals for Spaulding in this Division II loss.

Spaulding goalie Izzy Orrell had 19 saves.

DURHAM - Sophie Royal had four goals and two assists for Oyster River in this Division II win.

Caitrin Ferris, MacKenzie Cook and Elsa Pueschel all had three goals for the Bobcats. Elizabeth Walent, Waverly Oake-Libow and Shea Sullivan all had a goal.

Oyster River goalies Sydney Haines and Paige Haug both had two saves.

GILFORD - Megan Leahy scored eight goals for St. Thomas Aquinas in this Division III loss.

Kensley Harris and Cat Vetter both had three goals for the Saints, while Sara Anderson had two, and Reece Anderson had one.

St. Thomas goalie Gracie Pettinato had 11 saves.

KENNEBUNK, Maine - Declan Fitzgerald had seven goals, and Kevin Cougler had four goals and two assists for Marshwood in this Class B contest.

Chase Turcotte (two goals), Ty Cougler (goal), Andrew Goodwin (two assists), Ethan Boyle (assist) and Jared Herrin (assist) figured in the scoring.

Marshwood goalie Luke Dockham had six saves.

BOW - Finley DeTolla had seven goals and two goals, while Anthony DiMartino had four goals and four assists for St. Thomas Aquinas in this Division III win.

Finn Connor (two goals, five assists), Marcus Broom (three goals, two assists), Jackson Estes (two goals, assist) and John Reeve (goal, two assists) contributed to the scoring.

YORK, Maine – Sophomore McKayla Kortes hit her third home run of the season and drove in three, leading York (5-0) to this Class B South win.

Junior captain Maddy Raymond earned this five-inning win, allowing four hits and striking out six. Raymond also had three hits, including a triple and four RBIs/

Sophomore Emily Estes had three hits, while senior captain Jill Carr and junior Maggie Hanlon both had two RBIs.

EXETER – The Blue Hawks improved to 8-1 with this five-inning, Division I shutout.

Kristen Bickford led the Blue Hawks with four hits and two RBIs, while Mackenzie Ducharme added three hits and three RBIs.

Annie Christiana and Summer Leclerc both had two hits and two RBIs for Exeter, while Sydney Cole had a hit and two RBIs.

Exeter’s Kristen Bickford earned her first win of the season, allowing two hits and striking out four over four innings. Edy Crawford struck out three in her inning.

PORTLAND, Maine - Mackenzie Davis (two hits, RBI), Sophie Mitchell (hit, RBI) and Jaydn Eastman (two hits, RBI) led Marshwood (1-3) in this Class A South loss.

NEWMARKET - Paige Bosworth, Isabella Mendez all had three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored for Newmarket in this Division IV win.

Gia Tilton added three RBIs for the Mules, while Jessica Berry, Isabella Mendez and Kierra Souphakhot all scored three runs.

Berry struck out seven and didn’t' allow an earned run, getting the win.

HAMPTON – Abby Brennan’s grand slam was the difference for Spaulding (3-5) in this Division I win.

Hailey Strong allowed four hits and struck out seven, earning the complete-game win. Ky McLaren and Em Valliere both had three hits and an RBI for the Red Raiders.

Kate Gagne had two hits for the Warriors.

WOLFEBORO - Madison DeCota allowed three hits and no earned runs while striking out seven over six innings, leading Coe-Brown (9-0) to this Division II win.

DeCota also had four this and four RBIs. Haile Comeau added two hits and two RBIs for the Bears, while Lily Veneroni had three hits and four RBIs.

YORK, Maine - Senior Hayden Henriksen had a solo homerun in the first, a single in the fourth, and a double in the sixth for York (3-3) in this Class B South loss.

ROCHESTER – Junior Ethan Nowak struck out five and allowed one hit over five innings as Winnacunnet improved to 7-2 with this Division I win.

The Warriors scored two runs in four different innings, as well a four-run fourth highlighed by Zach Brassil’s bases-clearing double off the center field fence.

Matt Maggiore had three hits and scored two runs for WHS, while Owen Bateman (hit, RBI, three runs), Jake Fredericks (hit, RBI), Hunter Chase (hit, run), and Ty Mitchell (hit ,run) led the offense.

Sam Farrington and Colin Bissonnette both had a hit for Spaulding (2-7).

DOVER - Connor Toriello allowed three hits and struck out two in complete-game Division II shutout.

It was the first win of the season for Somersworth, now 1-6.

HAMPTON - Joshua Schaake’s 15 kills and two aces helped Winnacunnet (5-2) hand Londonderry its first loss of the season.

Individual scores were 25-22, 13-25, 16-25, 25-23, 15-13.

Noah Molnar had 11 kills, while Bryce Molnar had 28 assists and five aces. Conor Fenlon (five aces) and David Kohl (seven digs) both played well.

HAMPTON - Stella Sebeny (No. 1, 8-0), Emily Barnes (No. 2, 8-0), Lindsey Hepburn (No. 3, 8-5), Abaynesh O'Connor (No. 4, 8-2), Grace O'Connor (No. 5, 8-0) and Amelia Dumont (No. 6, 8-1) all won in singles action for Winnacunnet.

Sebeny and Barnes won 8-0 at No. 1 doubles.

Spaulding’s Maddy Gagnon and Stella Mitropoulos won 8-4 at No. 2 doubles, and teammates Maddy Turgeon and Ella Leslie won 8-2 at No. 3.

ROCHESTER – The Red Raiders swept this Division I match as Nick Gagnon (No. 1, 8-2), Ben McGeehan (No. 2, 9-7), Cam Brochu (No. 3, 8-3), Anthony DeBellis (No. 4, 8-4), Jackson Emrich (No. 5, 8-3) and Cam Bastien (No. 6, 8-5) all won in singles action.

Gagnon and Brochu won 8-1 at No. 1 doubles, Bastien and Rawls won 8-2 at No. 2, and

Emrich and Owen Martell won 8-3 at No. 3.
