MASSILLON 58, WOODRIDGE 47 The Tigers built an 18-8 first-quarter lead and went on to beat Woodridge at the Hoover MLK Classic. Elijah Farrington poured in 16 points to lead Massillon (6-6). Jadyce Thigpen finished with 15 points. Chris Knight added 13.

LAKE CENTER CHRISTIAN 53, EAST CANTON 34 Tanner Norman poured in a game-high 21 points to lead the Tigers past the Hornets at the Hoover MLK Classic. Jaedyn McLeod finished with 14 points for East Canton.

CUYAHOGA FALLS 66, CANTON SOUTH 50 Le’Aaron Austin scored a game-high 24 points to power Cuyahoga Falls past the Wildcats at the Hoover MLK Classic. The Black Tigers led 33-26 at halftime and pulled away in the second half when they outscored Canton South 33-24. Luke Simmons scored 15 points, Will Sadler finished with 13 and Tavon Castle added 10 for the Wildcats.

NORTHWEST 39, SHERIDAN 35 Northwest outscored Sheridan 26-15 in the second half for a come-from-behind win at Classic in the Country in Berlin. Ashley Cudnik and Ashlyn Stark scored 13 points apiece for Northwest, which improved to 12-2. Lily Bottomley also grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds. Ava Heller led Sheridan with 11 points. Northwest held All-Ohio player Jamisyn Stinson to 9 points — all in the first quarter.

ST. THOMAS AQUINAS 62, AKRON EAST 3 The Knights set a program record for fewest points allowed in their win over Akron East. Jo Smith led St. Thomas Aquinas with 21 points. The Knights led 52-0 at halftime.

LAKE 73, PERRY 36 Chance Casenhiser scored a school-record 45 points and the Blue Streaks moved into a first-place tie atop the Federal League with a Senior Night win Friday. Casenhiser's big night, which surpasses the 44 points Eric Coblentz scored on Timken in a game during the 2006-07 season, included only two 3-pointers and 5-for-5 free throw shooting. The junior guard shot 11-of-13 from the floor in the first half and finished 19-of-29, outscoring the entire team from Perry (2-9, 0-7). Casenhiser, who averaged a Stark County-best 26.3 points entering the week, had 39 points through three quarters Friday, at which point Lake led 64-27. The Blue Streaks (7-6, 5-2) move into a first-place tie in the league with Jackson, which lost at Green on Friday. GlenOak is a half game back at 4-2 in the league.

HOOVER 58, MCKINLEY 42 The Vikings shot a sizzling 69.4% from the floor as they knocked off McKinley at Memorial Field House for their third straight win. Hunter Ross scored a game-high 18 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the floor for Hoover (6-5, 3-4). Wes Collins totaled 13 points and four assists. Logan Ash added five rebounds and four steals for the Vikings, while Crew Cain had five assists. Hoover had 18 assists on its 25 made field goals. Jahlil Graham's 16 points led McKinley (5-6, 3-4), which has dropped three straight and six of its last eight. Dante McClellan added 10 points.

CARROLLTON 45, MARLINGTON 35 Lincoln Mallarnee scored 15 points and Jaxon Rinkes added 12 as the Warriors won on the road in EBC play for their 10th straight win. Carrollton (12-2, 5-1) stays a game back of first-place Alliance (9-2, 6-0). Casey Miller led Marlington (5-7, 2-4) with 12 points.

MOGADORE 60, ST. THOMAS AQUINAS 59 Lucas Butler hit six 3-pointers and scored 18 points as the Wildcats won at Aquinas to hand the Knights their first Portage Trail Conference loss. Layne Miller added 14 points and Trevor Davis 10 for Mogadore (11-2, 4-1) in this battle of last year's PTC co-champions. Julius Kimbrough scored 18 points to lead Aquinas (7-5, 4-1), which has lost three of its last four in a brutal stretch of the schedule.
